Sundays can be one of the most relaxing days of the week.
A little R&R…
A bit of slow time with family & friends…
…and time to curl up on the couch and watch some awesome televisions shows.
Here are my Sunday Night Favorites:
QUANTICO (ABC) – created by Josh Safran, Quantico is about “a diverse group of recruits has arrived at the FBI Quantico Base for training. They are the best, the brightest and the most vetted, so it seems impossible that one of them is suspected of masterminding the biggest attack on New York City since 9/11.” Quantico stars Priyanka Chopra as Alex, Jake McLaughlin as Ryan, Aunjanue Ellis as Miranda, Yasmine Al Massri as Nimah, Johanna Braddy as Shelby, Tate Ellington as Simon, Graham Rogers as Caleb and Josh Hopkins as Liam O’Connor. It’s definitely ingriguitng to say the least.
HOMELAND (Showtime) – I have loved Homeland since Season One. We’re now on Season Five. I think it’s one of the most brilliantly written shows out there. I think the acting is top knotch. I couldn’t praise this show any more if I wanted to – it’s brilliant.
The essence of HOMELAND is thus – HOMELAND is an edge-of-your-seat sensation. CIA officer Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) is tops in her field despite being bipolar, which makes her volatile and unpredictable. With the help of her long-time mentor Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin), Carrie fearlessly risks everything, including her personal well-being and even sanity, at every turn. You won’t be able to turn away from this gripping, emotional thriller in which nothing short of the fate of our nation is at stake.

THE AFFAIR (Showtime) – Truthfully, I wasn’t sure if I liked The Affair at first. Oh great, I thought…yet another glamorization of infedility, and that concept made me sad. But I would venture to say that there’s nothing glamourous about The Affair. When two married people fall in love…and act on those feeligns…it’s complicated. It’s messy. It’s anything but sparkly and glamourous. The Affair, it speaks to that. It highlights the shades of grey with infidelity, bringing a rawness and complexity to the subject matter that I’ve never quite seen before on television.
The official description is thus – at once deeply observed and intriguingly elusive, THE AFFAIR explores the emotional effects of an extramarital relationship. Noah is a New York City schoolteacher and budding novelist with a wife of twenty years and four children. Alison is a young waitress and wife from Montauk at the end of Long Island, trying to piece her life back together in the wake of a tragedy. The provocative drama unfolds separately from multiple perspectives, using the distinct memory biases of each character to tell the story.
I’d highly recommend it – learn more about previous episodes here.
