Hello Friends!
Day 11 of The 12 Days of Books brings us another holiday suspense novel by mother-daughter team Mary Higgins Clark and Carol Higgins Clark.
In Santa Cruise: A Holiday Mystery at Sea, readers meet Alvirah and Willy Meehan again (a reoccurring couple in the novels produced by the mother-daughter team). This Christmas, they decide to take a four-day cruise to the Caribbean on the Royal Mermaid.
Commodore Randolph Weed choose wealthy, “do-gooders” to participate in the maiden voyage in an attempt to generate good publicity. The Commodore’s nephew, Eric, takes advantage of his uncle and stows two criminals on board the Royal Mermaid so that they may disembark in the Caribbean and avoid capture in the United States.
The Meehan’s were anticipating a quiet, relaxing cruise. Instead, they found themselves in the middle of yet another mystery. The plot is zany and improbable. It is not a sit-at-the-edge of your seat mystery novel like most of Clark’s non-holiday books. It is however, fun, page-turning, and packed with holiday cheer.
