Hello Beautiful People,
Fourteen years ago, I was in my AP European History class when our principal came on the PA system, uttering words that would forever change the course of our lives, and the world as we knew it.
I never know what to say today. Words always seem to fall short. I’ll never forget that day. I’ll never forget the panic of my friends & family — not knowing who was in the towers, not knowing if they were ok, not knowing if they would come home. I’ll never forget the funerals of those who perished, the raw grief that tore through the hearts of all those who lost a loved one, their lives forever changed.
But the thing is, whether you lost a loved one or not, whether you grew up in New York or not, all American lives were changed that day. And as we remember, I can only hope that we begin to grow together again. That we teach our young people to always stand for what is right and good — that goodness must always triumph over evil. I hope that we remember the beauty and magnificence that this country stands for, and continue to protect the land of the free, and honor the home of the brave.
Never Forget.
