Hello Beautiful People,
Once againi found myself at 54 Below — but let’s be real, that’s not that shocking, is it? Lately it feels like my home away from home — between my own projects, the press invites, and supporting my friends – I’m always there.
And that makes my heart happy.
Because in the time that Ms. Jennifer Ashley Tepper has taken over as Director of Programming — 54 has become a haven for all artists — both performers who are new to the NYC showbiz scene, and those who have become integral threads of the fabric of this artistic community called Broadway.
But alas, I digress.
We’re talkin’ bout F here.
F. Michael Haynie, that is.
F. is an actor, singer, songwriter, and musician. He’s been seen onstage in Carrie, Dogfight, Wicked, Holler if You Hear Me, (and plenty more.) He’s one fourth of the (M)orons, and most recently he graced television screens as one of the lost boys in NBC’s Peter Pan LIVE!
And last night, he played his original music to a sold out crowd at 54 Below…
…and it was awesome.
AWESOME.
So, slap yourself silly right now if you missed it — cause this fella killed it.
Some favorite moments from the night — Maggie & Sam – sung by Julia Mattison and F. – Evermore – sung by Janet Krupin, when Andy Mientus explained to the youngsters of the audience that telling a good story song requires a stool and a beanie…and yes, my favorite (M)orons — for as talented as they all are, individually and collectively, it’s wonderful to know fellas who are such great friends and supporters of one another in this crazy business called show business.
So, congratulations, F.! You done good, dear friend. And I know that whole room will be waiting with bated breath to hear that thing that you’re not writing that’s not a musical.
