FEINSTEIN’S/54 BELOW, Broadway’s Supper Club, presents Andrea Prestinario in sMOkeyTOWN: The Songs of Smokey Robinson on Sunday, February 19th, 2017 at 9:30pm. In celebration of Smokey Robinson’s 77th birthday, Andrea makes her Feinstein’s/54 Below debut. Originally conceived as a birthday gift to her father, sMOkeyTOWN salutes Smokey Robinson’s historic songwriting canon with party hats, pomp, and some serious Motown circumstance. Smokey was the most-played artist blasting from the stereo of Andrea’s childhood home, so go with what you know, right? Um, I’ll Second That Emotion! While championing the unsung hero of Motown and his impact on The Great American Songbook, Andrea brings her funked-up and folked-down arrangements of Smokey’s greatest hits to Feinstein’s/54 Below.
Andrea will be joined by Lulu Fall (Great Comet), Pearl Rhein (Great Comet), and special appearances by Klea Blackhurst (Hazel), Spencer Moses (School of Rock), and Jeremy Morse (Waitress). She will be backed by a five-piece band led by musical director Ian Weinberger (Hamilton). sMOkeyTOWN is directed by Lucia Spina (Spelling Bee).
Andrea Prestinario in sMOkeyTOWN: The Songs of Smokey Robinson plays Feinstein’s/54 Below (254 West 54th Street) Sunday, February 19th, 2017, at 9:30pm. There is a $35 cover charge and $25 food and beverage minimum. Tickets and information are available at www.54Below.com.
