Hello Friends!
Beyond Broadway Goes to Summer Festivals.
Well…two.
It is another hot summer in NYC chock full of festivals! This month I am going to keep it short and sweet. I am also going to do a shameless plug for my upcoming projects. Once again, I am thrilled to be working with two female solo artists in this year’s New York International Fringe Festival who are truly remarkable. Felicity Seidel (Lucky Chick) and Jasmine Pittenger (My Ass (in the World) are what I call trailblazers of sharing their truth through theatre. I am also a part of the production team for the New York New Works Theatre Festival which is in its second year. Again, wonderful artists taking the opportunity to make their dreams come true.
Lucky Chick has been selected to be part of the 2015 New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC). Written by and starring Felicity Seidel, the solo show is a comedic story of how a young girl got swept up into a crazy drug and sex-fueled world alongside her older boyfriend, Bob Weir of The Grateful Dead.
Developed over the last two years in Matt Hoverman’s Go-Solo workshops and with Naked Angels, Lucky Chick focuses on a teenage girl’s wild exploits which take her from the streets of New York City to Alaska where her real adventure begins. She is plucked from the crowd of a Grateful Dead show by Bob Weir and the chance meeting is the start of what becomes an incredible ten-year romance.

MY ASS (IN THE WORLD): A TRUE STORY OF LOVE, WAR, TALIBAN… AND DIRTY LAMBADA-DANCING swivels and shakes into NYC this August, as an official selection of the 19th Annual New York International Fringe Festival – FringeNYC.
Developed with Emmy-winner Matt Hoverman; written and performed by Jasmine Pittenger; and directed by Mary Catherine Donnelly, MY ASS (IN THE WORLD) is a heart breakingly funny one-woman show. It starts off as a girl’s cheeky quest for that one elusive place on earth where “Fat Ass” translates to “Perfect Peach.” Five continents and two decades later, Jasmine’s escape from the Huge Family Butt turns into a much bigger quest – one that might just help change the world.
