Hello Beautiful People,
My dear friend Jennifer Ashley Tepper once said, “Theatre artists create moments and share them. Sometimes they live on in others’ hearts forever. Sometimes they live on out loud in magical reunion concerts. And if you’re REALLY lucky sometimes they even live on in the friendships we make.”
And lately…I find myself unbelievably lucky.
BLESSED.
Even SOY BLESSED.
I find myself constantly creating these shows and concerts and evenings of art and theatre and music…and I’m fortunate enough to be surrounded by people who are passionate about making art. Who give one hundred and ten percent themselves to the work that they are doing.
I find myself surrounded by artists who are collaborators, and who have become the greatest of friends.
And for that I am grateful.
Because really, it takes a village.
Whether it’s a show of mine, or one of my colleagues – live theatre takes a tremendous amount of work, heart, dedication and commitment.
It’s not always easy, but for me, it has and continues to be worth it.
23 hour work days are worth it when you’re surrounded by artists who share your vision. It’s worth it when your collaborators become your friends, AND your teachers. It’s worth it when your tribe pushes you to your limits, so that you may reach your greatest potential. 23 hour work days are worth it when you end them doing what you love, with people you love.
I hope to see you all tonight at Don’t Tell Mama NYC for The Ugly Christmas Sweater Soiree.
My cast is amazing.
My MD is phenomenal.
And The Robin Hood Foundation deserves all the funds it can get.
