FEINSTEIN’S/54 BELOW, Broadway’s Supper Club, will present a one-night only 20th anniversary concert production of Paul Scott Goodman’s influential 1999 rock musical Bright Lights, Big City on February 4th, 2019, at 7:00 and 9:30pm.
Bright Lights, Big City is based on the novel by on Jay McInerney, and follows a week in the life of Jamie, a successful young writer who loses himself in the chaos of 1980s New York City. The musical originally premiered Off-Broadway in 1999 at New York Theatre Workshop and went on to a celebrated concept recording, London production, and various concert productions. Paul Scott Goodman, is the first solo recipient of the Jonathan Larson Foundation Award.
Nick Blaemire (Tick, Tick…Boom, Godspell) will lead the cast as Jamie. The all star cast also will include Christy Altomare (Anastasia, Mamma Mia) as Vicky, Isaac Powell (Once On This Island) as Michael, Annie Golden (Netflix’s Orange is the New Black) as Clara, and Julia Murney (Wicked, The Wild Party) as Mom. Additional casting will be announced soon.
The evening will be directed by Alex Tobey, music directed by Ben Caplan and produced by Jen Sandler.
