Hoboken’s Mile Square Theatre (Chris O’Connor, Founder & Artistic Director; Mark Cirnigliaro, Associate Artistic Director) will christen their new space with the Obie Award Winning play Circle Mirror Transformation written by Annie Baker and directed by Chris O’Connor. The play will begin performances on June 15 and celebrate its Gala Opening Night on June 16 and will run through July 2, 2016. Tickets are $30 ($18/students and seniors) and can be purchased by visiting milesquaretheatre.org.
The New York Times called Circle Mirror Transformation “absorbing, unblinking and sharply funny.” The play follows an unlikely group of strangers in a small Vermont town who take an acting class where their personal stories are revealed comically and heartbreakingly through a series of misguided acting exercises.
The cast includes: Deborah Hedwall (Broadway: The Heidi Chronicles, Equus; OBIE Winner: Sight Unseen), Jon Krupp (Film: Breaking the Chain, Stage: Wait Until Dark), Matthew Lawler (TV: “The Family,” “Boardwalk Empire”). Creative team includes: Matt Fick (Sets), Elaine Wong (Lights), Peter Fogel (Costumes), and Matt Bittner (Sound).
The 2016 Mile Square Theatre Season is sponsored by Bijou Properties, The Burgiss Group, Clifton Savings Bank, Ironstate, Jet.com, Hufnagel Landscaping, and The Rockefeller Group. Mile Square Theatre is supported by the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation.
