Financial Slavery: The College Debt Sentence will have its World Premiere at The New York International Fringe Festival on August 21. The production is produced by the Award-Winning North Bergen, New Jersey Company, Strength Out of Shadows (SOS), utilizing visual, performing and media arts to create dialogue and change within their communities.
The production was written by Alyea Pierce whose previous work has been seen at The Apollo Theatre, Broadway’s New Amsterdam, as well as various TEDx events. Financial Slavery is directed by SOS Artistic Director, Jennifer Little who appeared in Phantom of the Opera on Broadway and internationally, and more recently turned to social justice theatre; working with at-risk students, doing Literacy through the Arts, Guest Artist programs and creating arts programs for inner city schools. The production stars a vibrant, diverse group of young adults and is choreographed by Allie Harris and Brandi Pinnix.

The cast features actors Frederick Philp, Alyea Pierce, Akash Jilla, Ashley Krushinski, Toni Kwadzogah, Rafael Lozada, Allison Mitchell, Brandi Pinnix, Imani Cole, Allie Harris, Charles Jones III, and Oise Ohiwerei.
The creative team includes video production by Michael Pinnix, lighting design by John Latona, and original music by Osaze Akejerah.
