THE ACTORS’ TEMPLE is pleased to announce the first concert in the third season of the Vox Hebraica Series, the Free Sound Ahn-somble with special guest trumpeter Frank London (Klezmatics, The Glass House Project). The performance will be Tuesday, November 10th at 9:00 pmat in the Sanctuary at The Actors’ Temple (339 West 47th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenue).
The Free Sound Ahn-somble, featuring soloist Frank London will present works commissioned for large jazz ensemble by six esteemed composers of the NYC contemporary classical community. The Free Sound Ahn-somble is Tenth Intervention’s inventive and improvisational septendectet under the direction of composer Dorian Wallace. Utilizing a roster of illustrious musicians from the New York City jazz community, The Free Sound Ahn-somble combines elements of classical avant-garde, spontaneous improvisation, and big band jazz to offer a new take on creative and improvisational music for the 21st century.
Tickets for The Free Sound Ahn-somble: $15 in advance, $20 at the door, $10 for students and seniors; Free for AT members. All events take place in the beautiful sanctuary of The Actors’ Temple, 339 West 47th St. btwn 8th and 9th Aves. All seating is general admission.
