“…Jackson unquestionably holds the audience prisoner with a powerhouse voice and irresistibly slippery sass.”
–Soiree Magazine
Amy Jo Jackson – actress, singer, and notable Tall Person – returns to Feinstein’s/54 Below with an all-new act of all-male material. After years of regularly playing men, boys, and Germans, she figured she’d do a whole show full of her favorite material written by and for the sterner sex. This Amazonian chanteuse always brings the party, so get ready for a no-holds-barred night of rowdy kickassery.
In addition to her previous solo shows, Amy Jo has recently appeared at Feinstein’s/54 Below as the hostess of the 54 Concert Lab and Mrs. Peacock in the 30th Anniversary reading of Clue. She has primarily made her artistic living playing mother figures and guys.*
* Seriously. As far as her Shakespearian credits go, she’s played almost twice as many men as she has women.
I Want to Be Your Man is set for 54 Below on May 12 & 14, at 9:30 and 11:30pm respectively. Music Direction by Brian Nash, and it is produced by Colin Waitt. Tickets can be purchased here.
This show is also a benefit in support of the education of girls worldwide. Half of the proceeds from ticket sales will go towards sponsoring a young scholar through the organization She’s the First. She’s the First provides scholarships to girls in low-income countries, fostering first-generation graduates and cultivating the next generation of global leaders.
