Casting has been announced for the upcoming concert presentation of Joyce Jackson’s Guide to Dating, which will take place March 14 at Feinstein’s/54 Below.
The show will feature a cast of Broadway veterans that includes (in alphabetical order) Jake Boyd (Wicked, NBC’s The Sound of Music), Jackie Burns (If/Then, Hair, Wicked), Lindsay Nicole Chambers (Kinky Boots, Lysistrata Jones, Submissions Only), Allison Guinn (Hair, On the Town), David Josefsberg (Honeymoon in Vegas, Act of God), Marissa Miller (Wicked, Pirates!), Andy Redeker (Les Miserables, Titanic), and Amy Sanger (Kiss Me Kate, Matilda, Rock of Ages, Rock of Ages, Elf, Showtime’s Reefer Madness).
Joyce Jackson’s Guide to Dating features books and lyrics by Scott Logsdon (Les Miserables, The Glamorous Life) and music by Steve Marzullo (composer of Audra McDonald’s “Some Days” and musical director of Disaster!, Once on This Island).
A parody of a dating manual for teenaged girls from the 1950s, Joyce focuses on what happens when The Girl Most Likely to Succeed decides to pen a “How To” dating manual designed to help her less fortunate classmates find the boys of their dreams while saving Democracy at the same time. What could possibly go wrong?
Joyce Jackson’s Guide to Dating was a winner of the Florida Theatrical Association’s New Musicals Festival and will premiere in Orlando in July of 2017.
