FEINSTEIN’S/54 BELOW, Broadway’s Supper Club, presents “The Music and Lyrics of Ricky Alan Saunders” on November 17, 2016 at 9:30 p.m. The show will offer a night of hope, love and acceptance featuring songs that illuminate the human experience in the face of oppression.
Saunders states, “I want to share my story with as many people possible because I believe there is an raw authenticity in the material that encourages love and understanding in today’s ever conflicted world. As an artist I strive to challenge the thinking of the masses. I have faced my truth and I hope to inspire others to do the same.”
The concert will feature the vocal talents of Tripp Fountain (HAIR, Cats), Keri Rene Fuller, Blythe Gruda (Jesus Christ Superstar), Mike Hinkle, Emily Lafferty, Tatiana Lofton, Hannah Melina Rose, Michael Romeo Ruocco, Justin Senense and David Spadora (Law and Order). The evening will be music directed and played by Drew Wutke accompanied by Hajime Yoshida on the guitar and Kenneth Hildebrandt on the drums.

Born in suburb of Buffalo, NY, Ricky moved to New York eight years ago to pursue an arts degree at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. After facing homophobic backlash from his family, he found strength and passion in creating his own original work. In 2012, he was deemed one of “Broadway’s Rising Stars” and has had the fortune of appearing on various New York stages. In addition to performing, Ricky has penned the music, book and lyrics to “Wooden”, a semi-autobiographical musical based on the classic fairy tale of ‘Pinocchio’ by Carlo Collodi. He is also working on a new musical titled “Kennedy/Onassis” that will illuminate the life of first lady Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy-Onassis in addition to recording his first solo album.
