Join us at Feinstein’s/54 Below for an evening of songs written by the talented emerging composer Blake Allen, drawn from his three musicals in development encompassing “The Truth Triptych”–Blake’s autobiographical musical, the shards of an honor code junkie (which recently had an AEA Staged Reading), HOCKET: a twisted film musical, and a chamber musical, Boston|Nebraska, based on Willa Cather’s short “A Wagner Matinee.”
Blake Allen’s three musicals discuss one’s path in life, finding peace, assuaging your mistakes, and growing into a person you want to spread into the world. Blake is also a violist having been heard with the New York Pops, Little Orchestra Society, Broadway’s MISERY, on the 2014 Philip Glass’ recording of “Runaway Horses,” The Tempest at the Public, Tamar of the River at Prospect Theatre (OOBC album), was a 2014 Artist in Residence at The Banff Centre, and gave the NY, Canadian, and EU premiere of Shatin’s Penelope’s Song. Blake has also been a Rob Fisher music assistant for 4 years.
