FEINSTEIN’S/54 BELOW, Broadway’s Supper Club, proudly celebrates the new works of composer Leo Hurley and lyricist Charles Osborne! A songwriting team that bridges the worlds of opera and musical theatre, Hurley & Osborne’s collaborations combine myth and history to combat contemporary issues.
“The Songs of Leo Hurley & Charles Osborne” concert will feature selections from The Body Politic, about trans/Muslim discrimination in NC (NYMF 2017, Boston Center for the Arts, NC State Legislature); Paris Through the Window, a fable about artists in the City of Light during WWI (Abingdon Theatre, York Theatre); Taking Wing, a fantasy musical about anti-bullying and true friendship (NYNW Theatre Festival 2017); as well as world premieres of We Are Myth, exploring modern teen issues through Greek myths, and Brooklyn Bridge, the true story of the woman who helped build it, amid the turmoil of post-Civil War America.
