With cutting-edge tap choreography and improvisation, On That Note proves that tap dance is stylish, powerful, and certainly alive.
On That Note showcases the high-impact talent of NYC tap dancers Christina Carminucci and Samara Seligsohn. Moving through a live playlist of original arrangements spanning from jazz standards to hip hop, the two have co-choreographed classic and edgy compositions, interspersed with improvisations, to highlight the versatility and reach of contemporary tap dance. On That Note, always played live, incorporates a rotating band of today’s accomplished young jazz musicians which has featured the sounds of Ben Paterson (piano), Noah Jackson (bass), Benjamin Tiberio (bass), Eric Miller (trombone), Wayne Tucker (trumpet), and Josh Davis (drums). This performance will bring in a special guest vocalist, Cara Dineen, a powerhouse of unique sound who Dede Bridgewater has called “A Very Special Voice….The Lady that can Sing.”
