After a sold-out performance last year, songwriters Drew Overcash, Blake Pfeil, and Zoe Sarnak are set to return for Twenty-Somethings 2 at the Highline Ballroom on Monday, August 18th.
Produced by Krysta Hibbard, the 8PM concert will feature new music from the songwriters’ latest projects. Guest performers to be announced soon.
Last year’s concert featured performances from Tony-winner Alice Ripley, Jason Gotay, Krystal Joy Brown and more. You can check out videos from last year’s concert here: http://www.playbill.com/news/
This year, the songwriters will host the “Fresh Pens” contest – looking for the next big songwriter. The winner will have the opportunity to be paired up with a Broadway star and premiere his/her piece at the concert. The winner will be chosen by a panel of judges, including 2014 Tony-nominee Bryce Pinkham (A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder), Richard H. Blake (Jersey Boys), Lauren Pritchard (Spring Awakening), Kacie Sheik (Hair), and two-time Tony-nominee Robin de Jesus (In the Heights.)
Submissions are now open. The deadline is Friday, June 27th and the winner will be announced Friday, July 11th. To enter and learn more, please visit: http://www.drewovercash.com/
