To commemorate its 50th anniversary, the 1968 cult musical Golden Rainbow will return for one night only at Feinstein’s/54 Below on Tuesday, September 11th, 2018, at 7:00pm.
Tony Award winner Debbie Gravitte (Jerome Robbins Broadway, Chicago) and ASCAP Award winner David Lawrence (High SchGOLDEN RAINBOW CELEBRATES 50thANNIVERSARY at FEINSTEIN’S/54 BELOWool Musical), son of Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme, have signed on to play the roles originally created by Steve and Eydie.
Opening in 1968, Golden Rainbow, written by Walter Marks and Ernest Kinoy, starred international singing sensations Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme as feuding in-laws who find love amongst the slot machines and cocktail lounges of yesteryear’s Sin City.
Golden Rainbow includes the sensational “For Once In Your Life, “He Needs Me Now,” “24 Hours A Day,” “All In Fun” and the smash hit “I’ve Gotta Be Me,” which was made famous by Sammy Davis, Jr.
54 SINGS GOLDEN RAINBOW will be directed and produced by Robert W. Schneider. The show will be music directed by Joshua Zecher-Ross. Benjamin Nissen will serve as projections designer.
Schneider said, “Golden Rainbow is one of those throw-back, feel good scores from the last days of America’s Golden Age of Musical Theatre. I am so honored that we are able to commemorate its time on Broadway with this concert.
