TADA!, a premiere youth theater company, is seeking Education Interns to assist with our Musical Theater classes and camps for the Winter semester on Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays, and/or Tuesdays (January 23 – April 24) and our Spring Semester on Saturdays and Mondays (April 30 – May 23). The internship provides an opportunity to learn about arts education and management while contributing to the daily operations of our programs.
Located in the heart of Chelsea, TADA! Reaches over 50,000 students annually through its renowned Musical Theater programs offered in the community and at TADA!’S own Off-Broadway theater. TADA! is more than a theatrical training ground; it exists to provide kids from all racial, economic and social backgrounds a place where they can develop individual talents while being a vital part of an ensemble-based setting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance in weekly Musical Theater classes (for ages 1-14) on Saturdays from 9:30am – 5:15 pm, and/or Sundays 12:45-5:15 pm, and/or Mondays from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m., and/or Tuesdays from 3:00 – 6:30 p.m., shadowing Teaching Artists and working one-on-one with students.
- Provide assistance in week-long musical theater camps during winter and/or spring school breaks (for students ages 6-14) shadowing Teaching Artists and working one-on-one with students.
- Assist with check-in and check-out procedures by welcoming and receiving students and families in a friendly, engaging, and professional manner and fielding inquiries about our programs.
- Provide administrative support for the Education office. Responsibilities include: processing registrations, answering phones, typing, photocopying, database entry, and filing.
- Set-up and clean-up of classroom and lobby space. Maintain general upkeep of TADA! administrative offices.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements + Additional Info:
- Applicants should be outgoing, patient individuals with excellent administrative, interpersonal and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and a passion for youth and arts-in-education is required. A background in Educational Theater and/or Musical Theater is a plus.
- Interns should be willing to commit to at least 4-6 hrs per week and at least one 4-Day school-break camp and/or 2 1-Day camps during the Winter/Spring Semester.
- Winter Semester classes begin on January 23rd, 2015 and run through April 24th, 2015. Hours are Saturdays 9:30am – 5:15pm; and/or Sundays 12:45-5:15pm; and/or Mondays 3:00 – 6:00pm; and/or Tuesdays 3:00 – 6:30pm.
- Spring Semester classes begin on April 30th, 2015 and run through May 23rd, 2015. Hours are Saturdays 9:30am – 4:15pm; and/or Mondays 3:00pm – 6:00pm.
- School-Break Camps run M-Thurs 8:30am-4:15pm & T-F 830am-4:15pm: 2/16-19, 3/21-24, 3/28-31, 4/26-29
