Hello, music fans!
I hope you all had a spectacular Fourth full of good people, good food, good times, and hopefully some (safe!) fun with explosives.
I don’t know if I’ve ever revealed this about myself on this site, but I’m a huuuge fan of U2. I grew up listening to their stuff and spent many of my teen years wishing for the good fortune of attending one of their concerts. My wish came true in 2011, but after that, I wasn’t sure I’d have another chance.
But I did! This past Thursday I caught U2 at their final show in Chicago on their iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE Tour. To my delight, the show covered the breadth of their musical career, featuring tracks from their earliest albums, their most recent release, and everything in between. So today is all about U2; I’m highlighting my favorite tracks from most of their albums. Enjoy!
- “I Will Follow” (from 1980’s Boy)
- “Gloria” (from 1981’s October)
- “40” (from 1983’s War)
- “Bad” (from 1984’s The Unforgettable Fire)
- “One Tree Hill” (from 1987’s The Joshua Tree)
- “Until the End of the World” (from 1991’s Achtung Baby)
- “Stay (Far Away, So Close!)” (from 1993’s Zooropa)
- “Kite” (from 2000’s All That You Can’t Leave Behind)
