Hello Friends,
We hope you’ve enjoyed our first week of the Movers & Shakers Q&A Series here at The Write Teacher(s)! We hope you’ve been inspired, we hope you’ve been recharged, we hope to have warmed your hearts & souls.
We are going on a little hiatus for Christmas.
Fear not, we will return December 27th. We will have more interviews, more suggestions, more stories, and we STILL have to pick a winner for our Elaine Wolf Giveaway!
But alas, for three days we will unplug.
We will enjoy cups of egg nog, we will feast on the food that was prepared with oodlesof love.
We will hold our loved ones close, we will talk without the tweet, the Facebook status update, without the pins of splendor.
We will look at each other face to face, sans an electronic appendage.
As 2013 quickly approaches, let us reflect, for the Mayans were wrong and we are still here. We. Are. Still. Here.
So let’s be sure to take some mottos into this year that awaits…
Let us make sure that we do not go one day without reminding those who are important to us just how important they are.
Let us never forget to say I love you, for it is a phrase of beauty, a phrase of wonder, a phrase full of live and hope and passion, a phrase that should be uttered whenever one has the chance.
Let us never forget to say thank you. Thank your parents, your friends, and your teachers. Thank the hands that help you, that guide you. Thank the souls that make you your coffee at your local java joint. Thank the persons who bring your meal at your favorite restaurant. The man or woman who cuts your hair. The person who pumps your gas. The stranger who holds the door open for you. Thank them. Today, tomorrow, and always. Gratitude should not be a dying concept. Ever.
Let us take pleasure in the small things, let us find beauty in the chaos. Amidst the wrapper paper, the tinsel, the gift giving, the holiday cheer, the shopping adventures and the champagne bubbles…there are a million tiny moments that you should be bathing in. Like, a huge gigantic bubble bath type of bathing. Take that second to talk with your grandfather before Christmas dinner. Take that moment to help your mother bake Christmas cookies, to send a card to those people who you haven’t spoken to, but have missed. Delight in the youngsters around you who still believe in he magic of Santa and Christmas. Remember that life isn’t about what’s under the tree, but rather, it is about the bonds of family and friendship and all it brings.
Merry Unplugging, Merry Christmas Eve, & Merry Christmas dear friends!
We’ll see y’all in a couple of days…
Live, Love, Learn,
The Write Teacher(s)
