Hello, friends!
Happy October and happy autumn! I’m not sure what it’s like in your part of the country/world, but here in West Virginia, it’s starting to feel and look a whole lot like fall. The mountains are exploding with hues of orange and gold and red. The days are getting cooler. The last of the pumpkins and gourds have been harvested from the fields of the retreat center/camp where I work, and there’s a hay wagon full of them parked outside our arts and crafts building. I went shopping for some autumn-y outfits last weekend. My boss’ dog let me bury her in a pile of leaves a few days ago. It’s been glorious. So here’s a playlist that I hope captures some of that glory in song form.
- Fleet Foxes, “Montezuma”
- U2, “MLK” (From their album “The Unforgettable Fire,” which turns 30 this month)
- Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, “Your Long Journey”
- Johnny Flynn, “Wayne Rooney”
- The White Stripes, “Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground”
- Fleetwood Mac, “Landslide”
- The Head and the Heart, “10,000 Weight in Gold”
- Creedence Clearwater Revival, “Long as I Can See the Light”
- Gregory Alan Isakov, “Big Black Car”
Enjoy!
