Today, Pets of Broadway launches online and across social media platforms.
The minds behind Pets of Broadway seek to tell the story of the pets behind-the-scenes of the stage, from the cats of choreographers to the dogs of dancers. Pets of Broadway aims promote Broadway, Off-Broadway, and regional productions while also inspiring audiences through positive tales of pet owners in the performing arts.
The brand consists of a website of full-length interviews with Broadway stars and their pets as well as Instagram and Twitter feeds, highlighting photography and the lives of these pets.
The inaugural week includes profiles of some of Broadway’s beloved leading ladies and their pets: Lindsay Mendez (Carousel, Godspell), Sierra Boggess (The Phantom of the Opera, The Little Mermaid), and Carrie St. Louis (Cruel Intentions, Wicked).
Pets of Broadway will feature a different actor or creative within the performing arts each week. The initiative is helmed by Janie Willison and Amy Sapp.
