Hello Beautiful People,
And then there is that moment in your teaching career when you can’t find the tests that you gave your students. You can’t find the tests that you gave your students.
You made your students take an exam. A fairer than fair exam. An easy exam. An exam that truly was crafted to see if they comprehended anything from the reading, or if they were just staring off into space, numb because they didn’t have their cell phone appendages. And your students whine. And complain. And whine some more. All of a sudden they want to study. All of a sudden they want to learn. Listen. Focus.
And so, you indulge them for a minute. You let them review.
And you wait until the weekend to grade the test…
…because your brain needs a break.
And you go to get your folder with all your neat little papers…
…and. They. Are. Missing.
Tests – nowhere to be found.
And the panic starts to set in. And you can’t seem to breathe. And you can feel new grey hair start to take root.
WHERE ARE THE TESTS?
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO NOW?!
HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN?!
Just when you think you have to give a new test, and tell your students that they have to take another exam all over again, you move a stack of papers – and there, neatly stacked are the exams.
And you laugh.
And you’re relieved.
And you laugh some more…
Because hey, teachers are people, too.
