Hello Beautiful People!
A lil recap, about The 12 Days of Books, for those who are late to the parrrrrtay.
Each day, we’ll go through the following…
- TINSEL TITLE TIP. What does this mean? It’s just a suggestion for the perfect gift, stocking stuffer, holiday grab bag item…you get the idea.
- MERRY MEMORY LANE – Sara + I will suggest a childhood favorite, perfect for your little ones.
- GIVE IT BACK – For each day, we’ll highlight one charity that does a world of good. These organizations are the beautiful bits of humanity. They are the glow to your holiday sparkle. And we just love ‘em.
And so, without further ado, welcome to DAY FIVE!
Tinsel Title Tip, Day 5
The Aviator’s Wife, by Melanie Benjamin. This is the story of the marriage of one of America’s most extraordinary couples: Charles Lindbergh and Anne Morrow Lindbergh. Lets just say it’s historical fiction at it’s finest. The perfect gift for lovers of history, scandal, and romance.
Merry Memory Lane, Day 5
Megan’s Pick – The Chronicles of Narnia, by C.S. Lewis. I adored this series. I still remember when my mother bought me them for Christmas – many, many, many years ago. There’s just something about this series that ignites the imagination. A sense of wonder. Of exploration. I couldn’t pick just one book out of the seven, so I’m going with the whole series for the Day 5 Pick.
Sara’s Pick – Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, by J.K. Rowling: I started reading this book during my 6th grade “silent reading” hour and I hadn’t finished leafing through the pages of the school’s copy by the end of the year. As soon as school let out on that last day, I made my mom drive me to the bookstore to buy my own copy. And the rest is history. This series defined a huge chunk of my childhood years and I don’t know how I could have grown up without it.
Give Back –
Happy Reading, Merry Christmas, & Happy Holidays!
