Hello Friends,
As many of you know, we took a hiatus from the Bookstore Pledge & Bookshelf Picks during the month of December; with The 12 Days of Books, dedicating time to support The 12 Days of Letter Writing at The World Needs More Love Letters, and the general cheer & celebrations that come with the holiday season, we were SWAMPED!
But, have no fear, for The Bookstore Pledge is back. And for the rest of the school year, we will bring one amazing independent bookstore right to your computer screen. Yes, we love Barnes & Noble, but there’s nothing like a good old-fashioned, mom and pop type bookstore.
We’ve highlighted Books & Books in Westhampton Beach, Books of Wonder in NYC, The Cooperstown Book Nook, & Augur’s Books. Now we’re pleased to introduce you to:
Book Revue, located in Huntington, NY
Book Revue is an amazing, two-floor, several store front, independent bookstore in the heart of Huntington Village. They host a variety of authors from all over the country. Madeline Albright, Alan Alda, Julie Andrews, Emily Giffin, Gloria Steinhem, Jodi Picoult…the list is ENDLESS and those are only some of our favorites. Check out all the authors that have appeared at Book Revue by clicking right here.
It’s a gem of a place. It’s family owned. It’s one of the largest independent bookstores in the country. It’s home to book clubs, children’s groups, and a variety of workshops. It promotes cultural substance & creativity. The staff is friendly and passionate. The prices can be compared to those bargain numbers at Barnes & Noble, and hey, it keeps the independent bookseller industry alive. What more could you want?
You won’t be sorry! And be sure to check back February 11th for the NEXT featured store in the Bookstore Pledge!
