Hello Beautiful People,
This past weekend we had the pleasure of visiting The Cooperstown Book Nook and Davidson’s Jewelry & Augur’s Books in Cooperstown, NY.
For those of you who don’t know, Cooperstown is where The Baseball Hall of Fame is located. It’s a BEAUTIFUL, quaint, sleepy little town nestled in the mountains of upstate New York.
Davidson’s Jewelry & Augur’s Books has, just that.
Estate Jewelry, local books, local art, and a small selection of bestsellers. It’s adorable. Our first book for The 12 Days of Books was purchased from this little upstate gem! (We’ll reveal the title in December.)
As we came out of Augur’s Books, we stumbled across yet ANOTHER independent bookstore…
Unfortunately, it was closed, but we were so pumped to find not one, but TWO independent bookstores in Cooperstown.
That’s right. In an age where there’s a Barnes and Noble on every corner, we found TWO little stores that are doing the independent thing.
Awesome.
If you can, always try to shop at the local bookstores. After all, that’s what the whole Bookstore Pledge at The Write Teacher(s) is all about!
Tis the season for giving…books!
Be sure to check back next month, as we’ll be featuring ANOTHER independent bookstore!

I would have thought that, rather than the Baseball Hall Of Fame, the point of reference for Cooperstown would be “The Monsters Of Templeton” by Lauren Groff (as Templeton was the fictitious name for Cooperstown). Or maybe that is a clue to the chosen book????
Cooperstown also boasts an amazing used book store call Willis Monie’s on Main St 🙂
o! and trivia tidbit, James Fenimore Cooper who wrote The Last of the Mohicans is buried in a church cemetery close to Main St
Thank you for reading, Caley! #LiveLoveLearn
