Hello Beautiful People,
Recently I attended the Theatre in Our Schools conference at the American Airlines Theater. I had the privilege of sitting in on the opening panel, composed of teachers and teaching artists. What stuck out for me, and was a great take away, was the identification of viewing a theater game or exercise for the first time. Taking a step back from the ‘go to’ tools we utilize and looking at it as if for the first time. How does one look at Zip Zap Zop for the first time when its embedded in my body? I guess it’s about looking at these exercises in a way that will prompt us to facilitate it differently and keep our students engaged and excited, even those who are extremely familiar with the theatre games we all know and love. However I am a little stuck on how to do this. Thoughts on how to refresh our tool belt with the older but sharp tools?
