Good God, whenever one turns on the television lately, or turns to any screen of news for that matter, it seems as if the heartache and loss of another person, the bleeding of another city is always front and centerstage.
I for one, am tired of wondering what city, what person, what country will be turned into another hashtag. Another Facebook profile picture.
I’m tired of people who cannot find it in their hearts to love and respect one another, and I wish, so very much, that they at least would just live and let live.
When the Pulse Shooting in Orlando happened, the Broadway community and Broadway Records came together to record a version of the ever popular tune, What the World Needs Now is Love.
If you watch the videos of the behind the scenes recordings, you’ll surely feel a tear come to your eye – for it will undoubtedly lift your spirit watching a room of people who are from all different places on this earth, different races, different genders, different sexual orientations, different nationalities, and different ages coming together in the hope of something greater than themselves – love.
A simple smile, a simple compliment. Saying “thank you” or “you’re welcome”. Listening to a friend in need, listening to a stranger in need. Coming together, if only for one evening, to support those who are both similar and different thank you – these are the pebbles of goodness that start ripples of change.
Whether you buy the Special Limited Edition CD, or the MP3 download, 100% of the proceeds goes to the GBLT Community Center of Central Florida. More information is can be found right here.
