Hello Beautiful People,
Exactly one week ago, I was invited to the Heal This Way – A Love Story book launch.
Honestly, I didn’t know who the Little Monsters were.
I didn’t know who Tracey B. Wilson was.
…all I knew was that they loved Lady Gaga. And that, for me, was enough to be intrigued.
And so I went to the launch of Heal This Way.
And oh, how I was so touched. Moved. Inspired.
But as always, I’m getting ahead of myself, so let me back it up a notch. The following is a note from the author/photographer/genius behind this entire project –
In the winter of 2013, Lady Gaga had to cancel the remainder of her concert tour due to a debilitating hip injury. On the weekend that was to be the Born This Way Ball at Madison Square Garden, Little Monsters from around the world gathered in New York City to celebrate their love and devotion to Lady Gaga, and the community she has given them. Knowing how anxious they were to let Mother Monster know they loved her no matter what, I had an idea. A signup sheet, three tweets, and 100 Little Monsters later, HEAL THIS WAY was born. But what started out as a get well gift for Lady Gaga, took on an energy all its own. This project had a voice, and it needed to be heard. So a new, public version was created.
I can’t wait for you to hold it in your hands!
I believe in the empowerment of the words and images on these pages. My hope is that you will be empowered by them too.Artistically Yours,
Tracey B. Wilson

HEAL THIS WAY
The beauty behind Tracey’s work is that she illuminates the beautiful, very often in those who do not feel that beauty within. She makes people come alive in front of a camera – she gives them strength, she gives them light, she gives them purpose – she shows them how beautiful they are. One of my favorite moments of the entire evening was when Tracey acknolwedged the birthday of a fan, of a “Little Monster”. (Her picture is below.) Not only did Tracey remember that it was this young girls birthday, but she then proceeded to roll out a sheet cake for this girl, as the entire crowd sang Happy Birthday.
That was really something.
The book, the photos, the music, and the stories of Little Monsters have created a community about love; Heal This Way, is most certainly a love story. Love of art. Love for Gaga. Love for one another. Love for oneself.
And that, beautiful people, is a beautiful thing.
Now, go check out Heal This Way – A Love Story.
You won’t be sorry!
Live, Love, Learn,
Tracey is our daughter and we are more than proud of what she has accomplished. Done with taste, beauty and always love.
