Hello Beautiful People,
I love the organization The World Needs More Love Letters.
Like, love.
There’s nothing quite like a group of indaviduals, gathering in a creative & giving way to make this world a bit brighter. Better. Beautiful.
Normally, the bundles are written — you know, old fashioned beautiful pen & paper & pretty stationary and all that jazz.
But this request, well, it’s a little different.
It’s the first email bundle.
And I KNOW you’re reading from some electronic device.
So after you hear Gaby and Joseph’s story — open a new email, and put those fingers to the keys, ya hear?
Live, Love, Learn,
G A B Y & J O S E P H
Like a lot of twenty-somethings, Gaby & Joseph had a five-year plan. And like a lot of twenty-somethings, their five-year plan isn’t going exactly like they thought it might.
In January Gaby found out that she was pregnant. In March Gaby was diagnosed with Acute Myelomonocytic Leukemia. The cancer would have never been found if not for routine blood work that is done during the earliest stages of pregnancy. So, believing that baby Louis has saved his mother’s life before he will even take his first breath, Gaby & Joseph have made the courageous choice to fight for him and give him the best possible chance at a wonderful life.
After completing one round of intensive chemotherapy, Gaby is currently in remission. The plan is to deliver Louis at 34 – 35 weeks, in a effort to expose him to the least amount of chemo as possible.
Their friend writes, “These beautiful friends of mine have the best hearts. Really, if you could sit down and share a glass of iced tea or cup of coffee with them, you would see how incredible their hearts and their sense of humor is – and they might even school you at a game of table tennis. While Gaby, Joseph, and Baby Louis’ futures are the brightest of anyone’s in this world, they are not out of the woods yet. And they could use all of the love in the world right now.”
Unfortunately, handwritten letters are not ideal for someone whose immune system has been completely destroyed by chemotherapy. Handwritten letters harbor too many germs so we must take a different path to shower Gaby & Joseph with the love they so deserve.
