Hello Beautiful People,
I love photography.
Anyone who knows me, knows that I love photography.
I could gush about photography for hours. Days, even. It’s my favorite element of decor. It’s my favorite visual art form. I think it’s one of the greatest visual art forms, to be able to capture an essence of a human being with a single shot…well, it takes talent.
Now, while I can appreciate all sorts of photographers, it takes a special sort of soul to be able to take headshots…well. You need to be able to understand people. You need to be able to read people. You need to be able to create a mood and a sense of comfort and establish a space where people are able to come alive before a lens, and let their best self shine through.
Matthew Murphy, dear friends, is one of those people.
Oy. vey.
I just had the pleasure of working with him this week, and I can only sing him praises. I can only gush. I can only say wonderful things.
He and Alex, (the make up and hair artist on his shoot), are awesome. Like, awesome. Like a brilliant sort of awesome. Like, even if you haven’t met them prior to booking your shoot, I can promise you that after speaking with them for five minutes, they will make you feel like you’ve known them your whole life. And that’s so important when working with a photographer. That sense of comfort. Ease. Fluidity. Trust. That feeling that you get when you let your best self shine through.
And oh, do they let your best self shine through.
If you haven’t been behind a camera, they will coach you. They’ll tell you where to put your head, how to position you body, when to look, what outfits look best, what make up compliments your features.
They will bring out the light in your eyes and the fierceness of your spirit. They will let your best self shine through.
Here are some of my favorite shots from our shoot, and please trust me when I say, I’d advise anyone and everyone to use Matthew Murphy for all their photography needs:
SERIOUSLY, friends. When choosing the photographer for your next shoot – consider Matthew Murphy.
