Hello Beautiful People,
Projects that help the ladies of the world, well, they make me smile.
I love to do all I can to support them, (I mean, have you HEARD about my latest show at 54 Below? More info here.)
But alas, I digress.
Recently I stumbled across the NYC Lady Project.
Oh. My. Goodness.
And while I could gush – perhaps it’s best for you to read their own words:
The Lady Project connects, inspire and showcase women doing awesome things, through events, membership and community engagement. The first chapter, PVD Lady Project, launched in early 2012 and has over 250 members in the RI area. The second chapter, HVN Lady Project launched in New Haven in October 2013; and BOS Lady Project kicked-off in Boston in January 2014. Lady Project events and memberships are open to females or female-identifying.
The Lady Project strives to partner local community leaders with entrepreneurs to create powerful and meaningful connections. Members vary in terms of employment, with around half of our members pursuing some type of entrepreneurial endeavor. Our members range from scarf-makers to media gurus to graphic designers. Regardless of career background, all members bring a unique skill-set and background to events and help connect other members with their ever-growing networks.
The Lady Project aims to help event attendees connect with other awesome ladies outside of an industry-specific setting by bringing together women with different backgrounds and expertise. Each month, The Lady Project hosts events in various locations that are geared to inspire, connect, and showcase women throughout New York City as well as other chapter cities throughout the northeast corridor.
These events are full of mingling and networking, but the real excitement starts when it’s time for our 3×3, which features three unique women sharing their story within three minutes. Other events that The NYC Lady Project hosts include book clubs, active nights, workshops, and our annual Lady Project Summit, which occurs in Providence, RI each spring.
Each event that The NYC Lady Project hosts benefits a local organization or charity that is either run by women or benefits women or girls in our community.
What’s not to love!?
