Hello Beautiful People,
We’ve been nominated for a SHORTY AWARD in education.
Cue sounds of bliss.
Cue fireworks.
Cue sheer joy + happiness.
Cue all things wonderful.
Cause this work that I do here, this work that my team does, well, it ain’t nothing but a labor of love.
I started The Write Teacher(s) as in an effor to spread my love of art + culture with my students, with the general public, with everyone, really. I wanted there to be a place on the internet that celebrated artists for their achievements – a place that did not care for bedroom antics, or who wore it better, or anything other than the art. Than the work. Than the creativitiy.
I wanted there to be a place where we remember the art, where we get back to the root of it all.
And so, The Write Teacher(s) was born.
Now, this site has grown leaps and bounds from when it has first started, and I have been able to group together a team of beautiful, wonderful, amazing souls, who share my passions and share the goal of The Write Teacher(s). We are teachers, writers, actresses, and directors. We believe that arts are essential. We believe in community. We believe in framing a conversation for all topics, and we do it through the lens of theatre, books, television, film, music, and of course, education.
The world is changing, and I (we) want to set the framework for the discussion.
As far as reviews & commentaries go, you won’t see any negativity here, especially when it comes to talking about another artist’s work. I have no patience for people who make careers out of trying to tear others down, and you’ll never find that type of piece on this site. The world has enough negativity, we’re not about to start adding to the mix. Furthermore, I am not a novelist, and neither are are any of my team members. If we read a book that we don’t like, well, we’re not going to sit here and take the time to slam it. What good does that do? We didn’t LIKE it. We don’t have the right to BASH it. The same goes for the theatre and films and telelvision shows that we watch, although since many of us are more involved in that particular field, you may find some constructive criticism. Constructive. Capeesh?
Now that we’ve been nominated for a SHORTY AWARD in education, I can only hope that more people will join the conversation.
Did ya hear? I hope you’ll join the conversation. As much as we’ve grown over the past year or so, there’s so much more we have yet to accomplish – and we want all of our wonderful readers out there to join us for this journey.
So, to my fellow Thespians, theater lovers, bookworms, educators, musicians, writers, & artists, it is my hope this will become a hub of positivity for you all. A place of celebration. A place of deliberation. I hope you’ll read the articles, I hope you’ll engage with each other, I hope you’ll learn something new, and perhaps, share a bit of your own wisdom as well.
And, after all is said and done…
I hope you’ll vote for us in the education category of The Shorty Awards! Click here to add your nomination (vote).
