Hello Friends,
We hope you enjoyed the 12 Days of Books, and we hope you will still take the time to donate your favorite children’s or YA novel.
But alas, we digress…
A word, from our founder:
Today was a bad day. Ah, screw it. Today was a bad WEEK. Personally, I had a person who I cared about let me down. This person deceived me a great deal, and it hurt my heart. Professionally, I had new students who threatened my safety and the classroom culture that I had established.
I wanted to cry.
I wanted to crawl under the covers for a long time…maybe wake up around Christmas or so.
But, life does not grant us such luxuries.
Or should I say, life does not grant ME such luxuries.
So instead, I went to my desk. I picked up my stationary, I played my favorite score from Mark Isham, and I wrote. I wrote new scenes for my plays, and I wrote for Madeline. For Justin. For Love.
I gush about The World Needs More Love Letters, but it is on days like today, days when we struggle to breathe, to fight to find the light, and to keep our heads above water, well, it’ is on days like today that I feel blessed to have found them…
The Writers. The Lovers. The Gifters. The real, live, breathing, honest to goodness scribes that would make Juliet so proud.
It is on days like today that I am grateful.
It is on days like today that I am able to channel my frustrations and sadness into something good for someone who truly needs it.
XO
Megan

Even if you don’t script a piece of love & light, you can send a stamp or two, to make sure that the letters get into the hands of those who need them.
