Happy New Year, friends! And yes, I know it’s December 30th.
But, we’re taking a writing holiday until January 1st – time to recharge, relax, revive.
And while I had tons of post ideas for our last words to you in 2017 – I decided to scrap them all, and instead draw your attention to the Toys 4 Puerto Rico drive, started by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Growing up, my grandmothers always said that the last of the Christmas season was the Epiphany, January 6th – I had no idea it was also called Three Kings Day, but alas, every day is the opportunity to learn something new!
Lin and Toys r Us have teamed up so that the entire internet can help families in Puerto Rico who are still recovering from the wrath of Hurricane Maria purchase toys for their kids this season.
Any little bit helps.
Any little bit counts.
It takes all of five seconds.
You could spend all of five dollars.
But these kids could use some cheer – and, really, isn’t that what this season is all about?
You’ll find additional information here, and the direct link to donate.
I hope you’ll consider it – and even if you don’t, perhaps you’ll share it.
Here’s to building community between communities in 2018 – the world could sure use it.
