Young Players Theater is seeking teaching artist applicants!
As a growing arts education organization, we like to build a close community of artists that we continually work with and would love to add a few qualified teaching artists to join that team for the end of our 2014 semester and the beginning of our 2015 semester.
Young Players Theater is a not-for-profit educational theater program dedicated to providing positive, enriching theater experiences for children of all ages and backgrounds. We offer affordable after-school classes, in-school residencies, summer camps and holiday break programs in the NYC metro area. Through exposure to worldwide performance traditions and a celebration of students’ diverse cultures and talents, YPT offers a safe and nurturing space for young people to explore, connect, learn and create.
The foundation of our program is the belief that PLAY is necessary to the creative process. The program gladly builds upon the long tradition of calling theatre-makers “players.” Young Players are encouraged and free to PLAY, while they learn from skilled teaching artists the dynamic theater traditions that encourage creativity and growth.
We are offer a range of devised theater based classes for children ranging from 2.5-14 years old.
Successful candidates for the teaching artist position will have practical teaching experience especially with children in grades K-5 and professional experience as a theater artist.
Candidates should email their resume and cover letter to:
